I'm with the "skip it" crowd
This print is way too chopped up to watch. Too bad.

Skip it
There are so many missing frames in this print, wahching it is like being in a continuious time warp. The pasties aren't worth it.

A MUST-HEAR!
I did watch it through to the end, but was I worn out. The dropped frames are everywhere and they get you worst in the ears.
Of course, on the other hand, this is the only print to exist, as far as I know. Certainly, I can't find another.
As for the film, it's itself a bit interesting, while credibly touching lots of genres, gangster, moral didactic, noir, (blush!) musical and others.
I'm rating this copy way down because of the irritation factor, while also admitting I'm glad it's here at all.

Thanks kareneliot
Thank you to "kareneliot" for the informative review, since I was unable to get past the first few minutes due to the overwhelming number of breaks and splices destroying the dialogue. Next time I'll get past the opening...somehow! :)

A MUST-SEE!!
It was a pretty quick-moving, average story decently acted by pretty good characters, it kept my interest and was entertaining.
Rather lackluster review, huh? So "why 5 stars", you ask?
I liked this movie even before the first night club lounge act, which is not to be missed by the... um.... appreciators of ... um... the finer theater arts....
The print is a little bit old, and there's a bunch of choppy/splicy audio, but you can still follow everything that's going on - "they" did a good job at saving it from obscurity.
I'd have given it only 4 stars, but that night club act earned the fifth star.
I think you should WATCH IT NOW!!!
